A law loses more authority when more people don't comply with it.  It is as simple as that.  A law is just a piece of paper if no one cares about it.

If the state chooses to enforce these asinine laws instead of laws that actually make a difference on the street, people will notice.

Come on, California is always in or near a bankrupt situation, you think they have the resources to enforce these laws?  It costs a lot of money that they do not have.  If you register, you are giving them money they shouldn't have.

Do not feed the beast.

The state of California is engaging in racketeering by coming up with ways to squeeze money out of people.

When you do the paper work of DROS, they already approved the purchasing of whatever you are purchasing and registered as such. They cannot turn around and ask you to pay more money to register it again.

It is racketeering. Plain and simple.
