这种签名请愿毫无意义。十万签署就会撤诉说法不是无知就是胡扯。 检查官不可能因为有人签名请愿而撤诉。

华人在美国社会的地位是用成就挣来的，不是用请愿抗议闹出来的。要闹谁也闹不过黑人，可黑人从马丁路德金起闹了几十年，黑人仍然是社会底层。没用。

要帮助梁警官，给他的法律援助基金募捐是唯一有点用的办法。

Of course not, if so, I would ABSOLUTELY stand AGAINST such a measure, basically ruling by mobs. The legal system has to be able to work independently from the level of principle, despite its current flaws and occasional injustice. An innocent person died because of Officer Liang, the victim was both innocent and wasn't confronting the officer or resisting arrest. This case is fundamentally different from Mike Brown or the NYC choke case. If we check the definition of accidental manslaughter, which part of this case does not comply with the definition? Now imagine the person who got shot to death is one of our friends from Qiangyou, are we still going to insist on not charging the officer for manslaughter?

梁警官被 Indicted 是在 纽约 那个倒霉蛋 在 街头非法 买烟卷， 被警察叔叔 “憋死”， 继而发生大规模示威之后。 扭腰政客为了 “灭火”， 不再 “点火” 。。。 Politic Correctness 。。。 “通缉” 了 梁警官。

签 Petition 也许没有啥用处 （的确也没有用， 白宫无权干预 NY 的法律程序）， 但举手支持梁警官， 是必需的。

如果尚不清楚梁警官事件， Google 一下再说了。

Facts that, basically, boil down to these:

Liang and his partner, another rookie, were patrolling the Louis Pink Houses — one of the city’s most crime-plagued housing projects — last Nov. 20.

They began a descent into a pitch-black stairwell (persistent lighting problems are one reason the Pink Houses are so dangerous). Then 28-year-old Akai Gurley and his girlfriend, Melissa Butler, entered the stairwell at least one flight below the cops.

Liang, meanwhile, had drawn his service weapon — perfectly permissible under NYPD rules, and not at all unreasonably given the circumstances.

And this is where what the young cop didn’t do — follow the NYPD’s strict firearms training regimens — resulted in a wholly avoidable tragedy.

The pistol discharged; a bullet, apparently a ricochet, struck Gurley in the chest; he collapsed and died in the stairwell a short time later.

Police Commissioner William Bratton termed Gurley “wholly innocent,” and his death an accident.

Gurley was reportedly killed by a single bullet, after Liang drew his gun upon entering the stairwell. After the incident, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton told reporters Liang "had no intention of striking anyone" and may have accidentally discharged his gun, and that Gurley was a "total innocent" who "did not engage in any other activity other than trying to walk down the stairwell."

Liang had his service pistol drawn, his finger on the trigger, when he opened a stairwell door with the same hand and his weapon went off.

Landau argued with Liang over what to do next but never called for backup or an ambulance himself, prosecutors said. Neither cop tried to resuscitate Gurley as he lay dying, they said.

Gurley’s little sister didn’t object to Landau — who is currently on modified duty — getting immunity.

“I think it’s a good thing because he had nothing to do with it. Liang is the one who shot my brother,” said Akisha Pringle, 19.

Prosecutors revealed new information about the partners’ actions when Liang was arraigned Wednesday.

“[Liang] retreated back to the eighth-floor hallway he’d come from and said to his partner, ‘I’m going to be fired,’ ” prosecutor Marc Fliedner said.

“For the next four minutes, as Mr. Gurley’s companion frantically sought a neighbor to call 911 and help her take care of Mr. Gurley, stop the bleeding, keep him breathing, the defendant stood on the eighth floor with his partner, refusing to call the shooting in to his superiors.”

Landau attorney Michael Cibella, Liang attorney Stephen Worth, and a spokeswoman for the DA all declined to comment.

原来如此。更不必签那个什么petition了。 梁警官放心出庭好了，绝对不会坐牢。

他的警官饭碗恐怕保不住。如果到时有人petition扭腰警长别炒小梁的鱿鱼那时再签。

As long as his partner is telling the truth, he is not a trash by any means.

What do you want his partner to do?  Telling lies? He is obligated to testify.
