Arlington police release video of ATM robbery, kidnapping

Arlington police have released the surveillance video of a robbery and kidnapping at an ATM on Jan. 14 in the hopes of finding the man suspected in the crime.

A woman said that she was stopped at a Wells Fargo drive-through ATM around 3 a.m. in the 2000 block of North Collins Street when a man approached her, pointed a gun at her and ordered her to take money from her account. The man then forced the woman into the trunk of her car and drove away, Arlington police said.

The woman was able to escape in Euless after the man stopped and walked away. She got out and ran to a nearby convenience store where she called police about 3:40 a.m.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s. He is about 5-foot-6 and has short hair. He was wearing a grey hooded jacket and jeans, police said. The suspect may have been involved in another robbery around 2:40 a.m. at the same bank on Collins Street, police said.

The woman’s vehicle was later located nearby in Arlington.
