Houston Police Union Calls Out Judge Who Let Cop Killer Out on Bond

The Houston Police Officers' Union is blaming a local judge for this week's murder of a cop.

Union president Douglas Griffith believes Officer "Bill" Jeffrey would still be alive if 208th District Judge Greg Glass had not lowered Deon Ledet's bond, despite a request from Harris County prosecutors for no bond.

“I'm calling for his resignation, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have the integrity to live up to that,” says Griffith.


Griffith says the union believes Judge Glass released at least 1,000 criminals with multiple felony bonds.

“He hasn't had a trial in over a year,” he says. “I guarantee the reason he let this guy out on bail was so he wouldn't have to have a trial in his court.”
