AR Pistol Lower Receiver

AR pistol lower receiver 很多vendor有卖。

我想问的是那些 brand new stripped lower receiver 是否可以built into a pistol lower receiver。

In 2009, ATF Form 4473 changed it to handgun, long gun or other firearm as options on "type of firearm". The instructions in the 4473 clearly define frames and receivers as "other"...........as they do not meet the definition of handgun, rifle or shotgun.

所以，我的理解是stripped lower receiver,that's never been made into a rifle, and we can make it into a pistol with ar pistol tube.(may not apply to CA,NJ or some other states ).

In the above letter, this is of course not intended to be legal advice, but it seems to me to say that you can go pistol->rifle->pistol just fine, but not rifle->pistol. It needs to start as a pistol.


At least, if you start your stripped lower receiver as a pistol first, then you have the option to change it to rifle later.


If you start your stripped lower receiver as a rifle, it cannot be changed to a pistol without stamps.

after 2009 ， ATF特别在form 4473 instruction里写了。大多数正常州的FFL 只能把stripped lower receiver放入other类别中。这也是为什么ffl不可以transfer lower给外州的人，而ffl可以transfer rifle 给外州的人。

excatly, that is FFL's fault if a stripped lower receiver is put into pistol or rifle when filling form 4473.

lower 的类别应该是other.
我应该好好search 一下。好像之前有不少帖子提过。
