The only meaningful cost is "marginal cost", i.e. the cost of the next round.

Equipment cost potentially can be recovered, at least partially,  in the future by selling on Craiglist.

I don't have exact figure for .223.  I guesstimate the marginal cost to be about $0.18/round.
