Legal Information
These rifles are configured and regulated as "Assault Weapons" in California.
AR-15 Configured as an Assault Weapon with "Detachable Magazine, Pistol Grip, & Telescoping Stock".
AK-47 Configured as an Assault Weapon with "Detachable Magazine & Pistol Grip".
These rifles as configured are not regulated as "Assault Weapons" in California.
Ruger Mini-14 Configured as a California legal rifle with detachable magazine.
M1A Configured as a California legal rifle with detachable magazine.
California legal AR-15 style rifle with detachable magazine and no banned features.
CA "Characteristic" Assault Weapon DefinitionThe following definitions apply to terms used in the identification of assault weapons pursuant to Penal Code section 12276.1: California Definition Of Assault Weapon
“12276.1(a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, “assault weapon” shall also mean any of the following:
(1) a semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(a) pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(b) thumbhole stock.
(c) folding or telescoping stock
(d) grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(e) flash suppressor.
(f) forward pistol grip.”
When using the MMG on your "Off List" Rifle, do not have any banned features (a - f) on your rifle. Keep your rifle 30 inches or longer and have a minimum barrel length of 16 inches. The MMG will not take a unregistered Category 1 & 2 "listed" firearm out of assault weapon status. If it is listed, nothing you can do can make it CA legal again. Click here for California Dept. In California, this is the law as to what qualifies as a "Pistol Grip" on a rifle. "A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon."
“(d) “pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon” means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top exposed portion of the trigger while firing.”

ATTENTION OTHER STATES:The MMG grip may help you with your local laws as well. I am not familiar with all the other state laws for me to be able to 100% recommend my grip to you. Please look into your local laws and go with what you feel is legally safe to do.
