Within Illinois, Cook County, which encompasses Chicago, has the state’s largest number of concealed carry applications, with 28,552 requests, according to the county’s website. Accounting for population, however, less than 1 percent are carrying.

这才是不幸的现实。尤其在芝加哥，public transportation上面不许带枪，办公场所不能带枪，俺实在想不出这仅有的1%里面，平时有多少能carry。

就说俺们城吧，三月份的时候有千分之一的人申请了permit。那个时候有5000人approve。现在满算也就1%多点。要比1%多了还得把芝加哥的1%往下拉。呵呵呵呵。。。

公交上可以带枪！

伊利诺斯枪法上有个漏洞。你只要枪中无蛋并且藏在包里，就算是枪械运输。于是合法。记着不要别在屁屁上！ 下车再更改carry方式。
办公场所能否照此办理还没研究清楚。公司应该各有自家规矩。

(a) A licensee under this Act shall not knowingly carry a
firearm on or into:
(8) Any bus, train, or form of transportation paid
for in whole or in part with public funds, and any
building, real property, and parking area under the
control of a public transportation facility paid for in
whole or in part with public funds.

(430 ILCS 66/5)
Sec. 5. Definitions. As used in this Act:
"Concealed firearm" means a loaded or unloaded handgun
carried on or about a person completely or mostly concealed
from view of the public or on or about a person within a
vehicle.

According to IL gun law, you can "transport" a firearm if it is

1. Unloaded, and
2. Enclosed in a case, and
3. By persons who have a valid FOID card.

So it is legal to "transport" your gun, even on public transportation. By the way, the "case" above is not clearly defined in the law. So any bag is fine as long as it is "enclosed".

It may sound contradictory to CCW law.  However, such a contradiction benefits the defendant if it ever becomes a question.  You can legally "transport" your gun until the politicians clear those loopholes.

Not any bag, but a real gun case, if you want to be 100% legal at anytime, any situation. A small soft case with zipper will do.

What constitutes a legal “case”?
The Criminal Code refers to “a case, firearm
carrying box, shipping box, or other container.”
However, the Wildlife Code is more specific,
defining case as “a container specifically
designed for the purpose of housing a gun or
bow and arrow device which completely
encloses such gun or bow and arrow device by
being zipped, snapped, buckled, tied, or

这是个不错的建议。 弄个带拉链的软枪套应该是万无一失。

做个 devil's advocate, 把枪放在背包中专用一格里面肯定不犯法。最多有打擦边球的嫌疑。法制国家的秘诀就是钻法律漏洞是合法的。 你们那帮政客法律没定清楚跟我等屁民干个鸟事。

我拿了ccw执照后第一次乘 CTA 非常沮丧。老老实实没带枪。其实那天我要去的地方还真该带橹子。弄得提心吊胆。回来后上网研究了半天，终于发现可以＂运输＂橹子。哈哈。从此上哪都＂运输＂一下。合法是事情有什么可怕的？

还是有一回不行。到法院去做预备陪审团。这＂运输＂进不了法院大楼。下了地铁又没地方存枪。也就算了。

这太没浪费了。CCW的噜子是上膛去保险拔出来就能打的家伙。＂运输＂的噜子必须开拉链，上弹匣，噜一把才能抠一抠。区别大了！
