这个靶场是lease的Con Edison的地，lease的关系是从1950年代就有 - 据老枪友说lease price， $1。
lease今年八月到期，于是六月就出事了... 现在town, Toll Brothers (developer), neighbors在像ConEd施加压力，要求不能续约.... 靶场在Scarsdale, NY - if you know the place and the housing price ... you would know how much this means to the developer ...

Seems to be mostly economically driven to me. Having a range on an expensive land is not a sustainable business model anyways.

对。我们这别西温莎的靶场70多年了，现在也被开发商看上了。还是打着建公园的名义。

Not exactly. The range is on the land under high voltage power line that is owned by Consolidated Edison -  the land is not exactly expensive since you can not build houses under the power line - BUT, because the range is there, the developer has to leave quite some spare land around it - that spare surrounding land are mostly good for building...
