Man in University of New Haven gun scare gets 2 years in prison

William Dong, 23, the student from Fairfield who prompted a partial lockdown at the University of New Haven last year, was sent to prison Friday for up to eight years.

State’s Attorney Kevin D. Lawlor told the court the case leaves him with “a lot of concerns.”

“If (Dong) doesn’t comply, the state will seek the maximum,” Lawlor warned.

Ultimately, Superior Court Judge Frank Iannotti told Dong he created a “scary and hectic environment.”

If Dong doesn’t follow the rules, Iannotti warned, “the consequences will be extreme.”

Dong also was ordered to serve five years of probation. He is banned from UNH and must be listed on the Deadly Weapon Offender Registry. His mental health will be evaluated.

Dong faces sentencing on a federal weapons charge in January.

Lawlor described the day when the UNH campus in West Haven was on lockdown: Dong was in class with two loaded Glock handguns, and officers discovered a Bushmaster rifle on the floor behind the front passenger seat of his car.

这就是力薄儒禁枪控枪法案的必然结果：把好人变成罪犯。

如果罪犯打定主意在校园杀人，这些法案不仅阻挡不住，而且迫使好人束手待毙。这些校园禁枪法案的唯一用途就是把好人变成罪犯。

As the drama unfolded, Dong was sitting in his biology class with two loaded Glock pistols. One was concealed in a holster on his person, the other in a bag, Lawlor told the judge.

While Dong had a permit for the handguns, they are illegal on campus.

In Dong’s car, police found the Bushmaster model XM-15, along with ammunition for the long gun and the handguns.

The Bushmaster is a prohibited assault weapon under state law.

Dong had no prior convictions, is a high school graduate and was a UNH student.

哈哈，他其实跟那种看篮球飞人后把创可贴贴鼻梁上，看火影忍者跑步时把手甩在后面，和穿着防弹背心，迷彩，戴着钢盔去打靶的是同一种人。

其实这种人反而人畜无害，但美国人理解不了。

In October, Dong pleaded guilty in Superior Court to illegal sale or transfer of an assault weapon and two counts of illegal possession of a pistol.

現年23歲的董威廉曾是紐黑文大學的學生。他對運送在康州被禁止的Bushmaster半自動步槍到的控罪供認不諱。
在2012年12月發生導致26人喪生的桑迪胡克小學校園槍殺案後，這種槍支在康州被列為禁止的武器。據報道，董威廉是在賓州購買那支半自動步槍。
這一控罪的最高刑罰是在聯邦監獄監禁5年及罰款25萬。法官將量刑時間定在明年1月29日。
董威廉2013年12月3日被捕。當時，一名警覺的女子看到董威廉從停在一家超市停車場的車中取出一把步槍，然後又將這把已裝好彈匣的槍放回車內後，於是報警。董威廉在把步槍放回車內後，到紐黑文大學上課。他當時是該校計算機系的學生。
事件曾導致校方十分緊張，校園一度關閉。校警通過學校推特帳戶向全校發布警報。而當時，身上帶有兩把格洛克手槍的董威廉正在大樓內與其他學生一起上生物課。據說，董威廉在教室內滯留了大約15到20分鐘後才走出大樓。由於他的容貌和裝扮完全符合「戴深色墨鏡的亞裔男子」這一描述，警方立即將他逮捕。警方稱，董威廉被捕時隨身攜帶以及放在筆記本電腦套中的各1把手槍共裝有25發子彈，從其車中搜出的5個步槍彈匣各裝有30發子彈。董威廉的朋友說，董本人有持槍許可，但對哪些地方允許持槍「常常搞錯」，他們認為事件是一次嚴重的誤解。
董威廉自被捕後由於未能交出50萬元的保釋金，一直被監押在位於蘇菲爾德的懲教中心。

Transportation (cross states) banned firearms and carry on campus...

比较搞笑的是, Mr. Dong 的本科专业是 Criminal Justice ...

You never know. We had a lot of gun laws in California and we are suing most of them and winning some, such as CCW requirement, 10 day cooling period.
There are unjust laws and unconstitutional laws and that is why we have supreme court to help.
