在这个鬼地方很多人（大多数人）拿不到full carry ccw permit,只能去靶场或者打猎的时候可以带。我运气不错碰到一个pro 2a的法官，刚刚升级成full carry，感觉比拿绿卡还激动。然后上网查了一圈，混乱不堪，有的说DEC state park包括著名的adirondacks public campground and all public hiking trails, no firearms, except for hunting season!! 这些地方很多都是荒山野岭啊。要看美国人的论坛上说什么的都有。想守法都找不到简单明确的说法。

ok, anything labeled "State Park" is off-limit! That part is not too muddy. But what about state forest, state management game area, or something called unique area? There are a lot of public fishing or hiking trails around, where it is not clear whether ccw is allowed.

Another question... if I take my family to camp in non-state owned camping ground for couple of weeks in the summer, we cannot stop by any of the state parks on the way, because of a pistol in a box in the car trunk? I saw this pdf before and remembered it implies that you can't even bring air rifle into the parking lot of state parks.

There is a simple solution:  Go to a neighboring gun-friendly state for vacation, such as Pennsyvania.

Private camping ground owner may decide if guns are allowed.  I think most do.

State forest and state management game area probably have different rules on guns.

I don't know about NY where gun laws are rediculous.  In Illinois, guns in box are allowed and subject to "transportation" rule.  Check gun laws carefully.

there are so many restrictions in NY, that worries me about not knowing some small details in the gun law not widely posted. That's exactly what I'm complaining.

I am planning a camping trip in PA and wondering if I could bring a gun with me. Guess what? No guns are allowed in any state park except during hunting seasons, even in PA.
BTW, I was trying to get a PA non-resident carry permit which has long been discussed among NYers. Now every county that offers this kind of permit requires the applicant has a carry license in their home state first. So for NYers like me who only have a "Hunting/Target" pistol permit can not get a non-resident carry permit in PA any more.

你看错了吧？ 只要你有CCW, 宾州的州立公园运许带枪的，只是要隐蔽而已。

Thanks for the correction. You are right, CCW is ok. However as a NY resident with a Hunting/Target permit, one can hardly get a PA CCW any more.
