1898年，意大利海军选用毛瑟C96手枪，成批采购，每支67马克。零售价75马克。生产成本大概55 马克。
1900年左右，德国马克对美元比价大概4：1 到5：1.
1913年到2021年，美元贬值26倍。
估算下来，毛瑟C96在1900年左右，售价大概相当于现在的五百美元左右。

这么一算下来，现在市场上的盒子炮，相对于其他老枪，价格还是可以理解的。

意大利毛瑟后来转卖（是否全部不得而知）到1910年代的北洋政府，就是传说中“大镜面”，这个视频可以清楚地看出来与众不同的外观。

C&Rsenal这一对绝对是俩nerd，视频一般都贼长，贼细致，也不管你听得是不是睡着了。很多细致的东西。
看长相（尤其是女的），像犹太人。

从这篇2016年的采访来看，Othais 在2010年开始在网上发图片，写文章。Mae很早就和Othais一起做这方面的工作。他们出视频以后，Mae负责射击和谈体验，Othais 一个人在架好的摄像机面前制作枪械介绍的视频。Mae在这个项目上投入的时间，远远少于Othais。

“Mae: C&Rsenal began in 2010 when Othais took his personal collection research online in the form of articles and images. He was obsessive about finding better and better sources and improving his photography in order to capture just how important he thought these pieces were.

I was an early supporter of his hobby and liked tagging along on trips to meet other collectors and museum staff to photograph new pieces for his articles. When he chose to move to video, I volunteered to be the designated shooter so that he would be free to work the cameras and microphones and because I was a better height to match the era.”

“ So now, we’re knee-deep into pre-1918 firearms with the added help of Jay and Suzie who assist with filming, finding guns, and hand loading ammunition.”

附近枪店新到了一支1904年生产的毛瑟C96, 全对号。涂层磨损严重。1800美元。

对盒子炮没有多少情怀。再加上7.63 毛瑟子弹就从来没有见到有货的时候，买来也打不了。作为一个不能发射的武器，只能用来把玩，能够忍受的价格就非常低了。

据说苏联7.62x25 子弹除了装药多，枪膛压力过大以外，可以和7.63毛瑟子弹互换。我不知道有没有发烧友把7.62x25托卡列夫子弹的火药倒出来一点，重新装好，用在毛瑟C96上面？
