To avoid potential patent infringement, the KAK cans do NOT have a muzzle chamber large enough to create sufficient back pressure, which is crucial in Noveske's KX design. Although they share the same look and almost exactly the same external dimensions, the interior chamber dimension of KAK cans is smaller than Noveske's. In addition, the KAK can has a one-piece body design, whereas the Noveske Flaming Pig has a two-piece body; the latter design allows you to clean the inside of the muzzle chamber, which will get carbon deposit over extended use. One last difference between the two brands lies in the material used, just as you have mentioned. I actually prefer the aluminum KAK slim can on my 10.5" DI AR pistol, as it is much much lighter than the fat and chunky Noveske KX3. However, the $35 KAK can might not work so well on the 7.5" midget ARs due to the inability to generate back pressure, according to the KAK official response on AR15 forum. |
