"Slain Police Officer Wen Jian Liu was only 12 years old when he and his family left China 20 years ago in pursuit of the "American dream." Liu wanted a chance at an education and opportunity that aren't easy to achieve in other countries. Liu attended Lafayette High School in Brooklyn. He went on to pursue a business major at CSI in 2001 before transferring in 2004 to Kingsborough Community College, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting, according to a statement from Kingsborough. From there, he began his career with the NYPD, graduating from the Police Academy in 2007 after starting as an Auxiliary Officer for the 72nd Precinct in Brooklyn.

James Ng, President of the National Asian Peace Officers Association, told the Associated Press that Liu was conversant in several Chinese dialects and helped the department with community relations in Chinese neighborhoods. "A lot of Chinese families want their children to become doctors and lawyers," Ng said. "He came here and wanted to become a Police Officer." "Wen Jian was an asset to the Police Department, using his Chinese language skill whenever and wherever it was needed. When he was off duty, he participated in the social and fraternal functions with the NYPD Asian Jade Society, where he has been a member since 2007.

"Wen Jian married Pei Xia Chen in September of 2014. He was looking forward to having his own family. Wen Jian was proud to be a New York City Police Officer," his family's statement noted. "He was a dedicated public servant who committed his life to helping others, and we will deeply miss him."

Condolences to the wife and parents of slain Officer Wen Jian Liu. R.I.P.

毛神神

Most Chinese came to this country and worked very hard to get to what they dreamed, while Blacks kill and take shortcuts to get what they wanted. And Blacks have the audacity to soil the name of justice via robbing, killing, and riot. WHAT kind of BS is it???

I didn't anyone see a single Chinese go on the street and complaint about this murder? Because we know freedom, pride, and respect comes from civility, not senseless violence and riots. The only way to fight discriminated is to work just as hard to make ourselves just as good as any other members in the society. My family was on welfare when we first got here, but as soon as we can stand on our feet, we never asked for a dime from the government ever again.

To all the Blacks out there: Don't asked to be treated equally, if you cannot do not understand what is civility.
