1. What consititutes weapons that need a CCW permit: o handguns o electronic weapons or devices o tear gas guns o knives o billies/metal knuckles etc More can be found at Such licenses shall be valid throughout the statefor a period of 7 years from the date of issuance. The licensee must carry the license, together with valididentification, at all times in which the licensee is in actual possession of aconcealed weapon or firearm and must display both the license and properidentification upon demand by a law enforcement officer.
2. Who can apply CCW ( in short, no criminal record, no mental issue, nodrug/alcohol addiction, US citizen or green card holder): (a) Is a resident of the United Statesand a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident alien of the UnitedStates (b) Is 21 years of age or older; (c) Does not suffer from a physicalinfirmity which prevents the safe handling of a weapon or firearm; (f) Does not chronically and habituallyuse alcoholic beverages or other substances to the extent that his or hernormal faculties are impaired. (h) Demonstrates competence with afirearm by any one of the following: 1. Completion of any hunter education orhunter safety course approved by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commissionor a similar agency of another state; 2. Completion of any National RifleAssociation firearms safety or training course; 3. Completion of any firearms safety ortraining course or class available to the general public offered by a lawenforcement, junior college, college, or private or public institution ororganization or firearms training school, utilizing instructors certified bythe National Rifle Association, Criminal Justice Standards and TrainingCommission, or the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; 4. Completion of any law enforcementfirearms safety or training course or class offered for security guards,investigators, special deputies, or any division or subdivision of lawenforcement or security enforcement; 7. Completion of any firearms trainingor safety course or class conducted by a state-certified or National RifleAssociation certified firearms instructor;
3. How to apply (forms and instructions): The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Servicesshall, within 90 days after the date of receipt of the items listed insubsection, either Issuethe license; or Deny the application
4. What happens when I move (change address) or lost, destroyed my license? Within 30 days after the changing of apermanent address, or within 30 days after having a license lost or destroyed,the licensee shall notify the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Servicesof such change. Failure to notify the Department of Agriculture and ConsumerServices pursuant to the provisions of this subsection shall constitute anoncriminal violation with a penalty of $25. In the event that a concealed weaponor firearm license is lost or destroyed, the license shall be automatically invalid,and the person to whom the same was issued may, upon payment of $15 to theDepartment of Agriculture and Consumer Services, obtain a duplicate, orsubstitute thereof, upon furnishing a notarized statement to the Department ofAgriculture and Consumer Services that such license has been lost or destroyed.
5. Where I can’t CCW with my permit? 1. Any place of nuisance as defined ins. 823.05(basically such a place are dents for criminals); 2. Any police, sheriff, or highwaypatrol station; 3. Any detention facility, prison, orjail; 4. Any courthouse; 5. Any courtroom, 6. Any polling place; 7. Any meeting of the governing body ofa county, public school district, municipality, or special district; 8. Any meeting of the Legislature or acommittee thereof; 9. Any school, college, or professionalathletic event not related to firearms; 10. Any elementary or secondary schoolfacility or administration building; 11. Any career center; 12. Any portion of an establishmentlicensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, whichportion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose; 13. Any college or university facilityunless the licensee is a registered student, employee, or faculty member ofsuch college or university and the weapon is a stun gun or nonlethal electricweapon or device designed solely for defensive purposes and the weapon does notfire a dart or projectile; 14. The inside of the passenger terminaland sterile area of any airport, provided that no person shall be prohibitedfrom carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, which firearm is encased forshipment for purposes of checking such firearm as baggage to be lawfullytransported on any aircraft; or 15. Any place where the carrying offirearms is prohibited by federal law. (b) A person licensed under this sectionshall not be prohibited from carrying or storing a firearm in a vehicle forlawful purposes.
6. If I do not have a CCW, can I carry a piece of firearm in my vehicle (Yes, if it is encased)? It is lawful for a person 18 years of age or older to possess a concealedfirearm ithin theinterior of a private conveyance, without a license, if the firearm or otherweapon is securely encased or is otherwise not readily accessible for immediateuse. Nothing herein contained prohibits the carrying of a legal firearm otherthan a handgun anywhere in a private conveyance when such firearm is beingcarried for a lawful use.
7. How about parking lot (You can have firearms in your vehcile unless it is at schools, correctional institution, or facilities related to defense/national security/nuclear powerplant, you can’t, otherwise, you may as defined in the articles below) ?
8. Is therea waiting period to buy firearms(3 days if you do not have CCW)?
