Police said a robber with a toy gun got killed in Cobbs Creek Park after a struggle with a victim who was licensed to carry a real gun.
Don’t bring a toy gun to a gunfight A man who police said tried robbing a Pennsylvania man with a toy gun was shot and killed when the would-be victim pulled a real gun on him, NBC10 reported. The masked suspect confronted a 67-year old man while he was walking in Cobbs Creek Park in Upper Darby Wednesday afternoon. He was carrying a pellet gun, which he pointed in the man’s face. The man got into a struggle with the toy gunslinger, who was in his 20s. During the fight he took out a .38-caliber handgun, which he’s licensed to carry, and shot the suspect in the head. He died on the scene. The shooter, who does not have a criminal record, was taken to a hospital with chest pains but is expected to recover, the Delaware County Daily Times reported.Police said the shooter is unlikely to be charged for the killing because the toy gun looked real, and the man was acting in self-defense.Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said he “did a great job” defending himself, NBC10 reported.
