I would not fire unless my immediate family or another peron is in danger.  I think the best way out is to keep distance, and don't get hurt. Let insurance company handle the damage.

In this situation, if shot were fired, all the legal hassle and follow up is not worth the property damage, which can be recovered by insurance.

一个瘦小的女的，不到110磅，拿个trimmer又被作者缴械了。实在看不出有任何开枪的理由。如果怕她抓，用手护住脸一脚把她踹开，然后躲远点就行了。这种情况下开枪，哪怕在最右的州也过不了陪审团吧？

其实这种情况就是使用非致命武器(喷雾，tazer)的最佳理由。可惜很多极端拥枪者不愿意承认非致命武器的实用性。比如最常见的一个支持拥枪的广告就是，Do you depend on a bottle of seasonings for your life? 指的就是胡椒喷雾。这个广告有一定的道理，但是绝不能因此就忽视非致命武器的作用。很多自卫的情形都不是非黑即白，在束手无策和拔枪击毙之间有个中间选项是很重要的。

Pepper spray does not work on meth heads. Taser is a better choice, if I just so happens to have a taser on me I will use that instead, but in this case the man in the story does not.

If she looks like she might have AIDS, I'm not gonna let her get near me. If you think wrestling with an AIDS patient is a good idea, go right ahead and do your thing, but I'll take my chances with the prosecutor and the court, if I go that far.

Your decision has to be put in perspective. If it's a 200 lb man, armed with something (even not a gun), shooting may be justified. But for a 110 lb unarmed woman? There's no wrestling with her. An average man can easily outrun her or kick her away with little effort. I really don't see a reason to shoot (and kill). Seems way excessive a use of deadly force.

You sound like those people who demand cops to "easily" shoot the bad guy's gun away instead of shooting at the center of mass.

I've never been good at fighting other people, never tried fighting a woman, maybe I'll win, but I can't guarantee not receiving any physical contact or contact with any bodily fluid. I had some hand to hand training in the military and I know what my level is. Here is a little practical experience,  every year I either get OC sprayed and fight other people or fight those who got OC sprayed. Believe it or not, but if one guy is sprayed and he fights someone, his opponent will get contaminated with OC as well, it will get into their eyes and nose. I'm just glad that folks in the military are regularly screened for infectious diseases.

If you're more physically coordinated, good for you.

I can't roundhouse kick her like Chuck Norris, nor do I wish to block a hedge trimmer with my hand or get into physical contact with a walking cesspool. It's like getting attacked by a small rabid dog, if you're sure of yourself, catch it with your hand, if not, better put it down.

Shoot bad guy's hand with precision who's armed with a gun = run away from a 110 lb unarmed woman?

If the above two things mean the same in your world, then I rest my case. We come from completely different places as far as common sense is concerned.

Well, in my real world, no man with 'military hand to hand training' has to resort to a gun to overpower or outrun a 100 pound woman, unarmed.

Admit it or not, you live in illusion and just try to find an excuse to use your gun. This is a dangerous mindset which can cost you everything one day. I hope you remember my words next you feel adrenaline rushing. Good luck!
