The car mfg's recommended pressure is to ensure safety and ride comfort.
The snow tire mfg's recommended pressure is to ensure most traction at any condition. This include max gross weight condition witch requires more pressure. More weight creates more deflection which will generate more heat if not pressurized enough.
My opinion, try the pressure between the car mfg's pressure and tire mfg's pressure until you find the best for you considering traction, comfort and etc.
Dont worry about over pressurization unless you exceed the max pressure on the tire wall.
When I used to auto cross, I pumped mine to max, 50 psi to eliminate roll. |
