I second this. Tripod is much more stable than bipod. Monopod is the worst!.
Actually I would even bring two tripods for even longer range shots.  You can't underestimate the effect of a stable rear rest.

tripod for camera is not good. 1. Usually camera tripod has some folding struts (connecting legs and center rod, ensuring equal distance to each leg)  This slows down the setup time.  
2. If you see hammer shooting tripod, all three legs are free to move, much easier to setup on uneven terrain.
3. Also shooting tripod legs are thinner, if you fold all together, you can use it as monopod easily.
4. Y yoke is free moving 360 degrees.
