Glenview到底能不能买ar15？

When I asked cop friend, their off the record advice is: don't ask don'tell. so far they have NOT had a prosecution case related to assault style weapon in cook county.

As far as I know, Glenview is a home rule town, so it follows either its own firearm code or state's firearm code, it doesn't follow cook county's firearm code, unless you live in an un-incorporated area. I checked Glenview city code and didn't find anything regarding assault weapon/rifle, so it is following state's firearm regulation, and you can legally own and possess an AR15.Same thing applies if you live in Park Ridge, Des Plaines.

我觉得你这样把厨子县跳过是不对的。根据周法，厨子县也是一个home rule unit。

里面清楚写着

(a)  A County which has a chief executive officer elected
by the electors of the county and any municipality which has

its government and affairs including, but not limited to, the

现在的问题是，后面写着，

(c)  If a home rule county ordinance conflicts with an
ordinance of a municipality, the municipal ordinance shall
prevail within its jurisdiction.

如果你这个municipal没有相应的ordinance，你是把他理解为其实就是有个什么都允许的ordinance还是得看更高层的ordinance。俺选后者，如果你选前者的话，那就大胆的上吧。

这些town在说明时都会讲遵守state 的规定， 比如glenview "agree that state and federal governments should deal with the issue". 这个时候表明实际上他是有自己的规定，但这个规定是和州里的规定一致的。几乎所有不禁AR的town都会有这么一句。cook county 的禁令对这些town没有效力。
你搬家吧。

你不能把新闻里引用的话当法律依据啊。如果这样，还不如像rc建议的那样了。

我不是那个意思，没有说那是指定的法律。我是指在这些地方政府讨论的时候，他们都会提到不设立自己的AWB 的理由和原因是遵守州里的规定，这个我认为是一种共识，虽然我没有找到具体的规定。 没有人说我们不用规定了因为county 有了规定。 这个和CCW 当初是一个道理，你不在限期内指定自己的规定，就默认服从州里的规定， 和Cook county 没什么关系。我在网上也看了很多讨论，问那为什么还要county的规定，因为有很多un-incorporated 的地方，他们必须遵守 county的规定，home rule towns 不需要。
你还是搬家吧。

这不又回到最开始的问题。没有规定到底应该遵守谁的规定。我胆小，你们大胆上呗。

我记得当初在看 park ridge 的 gun code 的时候，里面也没有讲有关AWB的任何规定，但后来找到一个 amendment , 是当初他们开会讨论的记录，里面基本的意思就是说州里有了规定我们不需要再有另外的规定。 像 glenview 这也是类似，经过会议讨论的一定会有记录，有据可查，最后讨论的结果只要是有据可查就是home rule town 自己的ordinance.

哈，夹在ordinance 的最后上面写得很清楚 ammendment. 这些地方政府都很精的，不想卷入可能的法律诉讼。

这个是当初 park ridge 的新闻，根本就没提cook county ， 和cook county 没啥关系。

After hearing strong opposition from residents Monday night, Park Ridge aldermen agreed not to pursue any restrictions or bans on assault weapons.

"The state should have leadership on this, and the laws they put in place are what we should follow," said Ald. Joseph Sweeney, 1st, at a Park Ridge Committee of the Whole meeting. "I don't think we need to create any new laws for the city."
Like many municipalities in the Chicago area, the prospect of restricting assault weapons came up before Park Ridge aldermen by way of a recently approved state bill allowing licensed firearms owners to carry concealed weapons in the state.

While the bill preempts any municipal regulations on carrying concealed handguns, a caveat of the bill allows local governments to restrict or ban assault weapons within 10 days of the governor signing the law.
..... Park Ridge's move effectively ends discussion on assault weapons there.

这还是跟没说一样啊。park ridge是不讨论了。但是上一级的厨子县继续讨论才会有13年7月的awb啊。

这里唯一的区别就是，你到底认为county的ordinance完全不适用于home ruled muni还是只不适用于有相应ordinance的home ruled muni。俺胆小，继续选择后者。

我的看法差不多。Home rule 的村子能不能有 AR 是个法律的灰色地带。我是不沾违法的边。灰色地带也不进。没有必要非得玩某个特定的枪。

胆大的只管玩。大厨郡从来没有一个AWB的案例。基本是是一纸空文用来对付守法枪民。

我遵守evanston的awb。请仔细研读之后再扯淡。。。。。
