下面的评论就很到位了,
This guy didn't get killed because he didn't have a round chambered. He got killed because he didn't practice chambering a round.
ABS generally offers improved vehicle control and decreases stopping distances on dry and slippery surfaces; however, on loose gravel or snow-covered surfaces, ABS can significantly increase braking distance, although still improving vehicle steering control.

Well, my use of that ABS analogy wasn't trying to say ABS was all the better, or pitch ABS vs no ABS as the same as the two modes of carrying while training is concerned. I was trying to say that, we use tools to solve a problem, but different tools have different requirements, different capabilities, and limitations. Knowing what is required beforehand will let us use the tool of our choice properly, and successfully. When the tool didn't accomplish what we wanted, it could be the tool was defective, but more than likely could also mean that we didn't use it right. And the latter one is the point I was trying to make regarding carrying empty chambered. It's just one of many ways of carrying, nothing good or bad inherently (such as carrying empty will get you killed, hogwash!). Knowing the advantages and more importantly, THE LIMITATIONS (carrying loaded also has its own limitations), is the key to a successful implementation...
