Just completed an intense two day rifle course with Team Spartan Worth every penny of it. Shot with some swat team members and realized how far I am behind.
The weather is smoldering 95f with heat index over 100f. Completely drenched my shirt and pants. damn hard work.
Tried Tavor, PSA and my colt 6920. All are pretty accurate. Didn't have the good red dot on colt. Used iron sight instead. aim point pro rocks! Wished I had an eotech for le6920.
PSA floating rail too hot to touch after continuous firing. Didn't bring tactical gloves. Switched to le6920 instead most of time. Iron sight.
Gun fight is more about mental preparedness, take advantage of terrain, balance of speed and accuracy, and decisiveness.
Get a good sight. I wanted to use aim point on my le6920. Iron sight sucks. Bottom line I need to trust a reliable piece of equipment.
Scrambling course is fun. we simulated rushing out of swat vehicle engaging target 10yd with 6+ rd can, then run to nearby obstacle prone firing two shots at 50yd steel, then run to another obstacle kneeling shooting 2 rd at 50yd target. Then run to an open field kneeling position 2rd at 50yd. My time is 40sec with 17shots. not steady enough with kneeling position. Best time is 27seconds.
Attached is a team picture. The guy on the left is instructor. the guy on the second left is machine gun Jim. He is the one completed in 27" he is active swat member. he is smooth and fast.
I will attached course topics in the next post.
