Texas allows bait which would be much easier. Also private land would be much easier because you can put trail am and study the pattern. Public land probably most depends on luck because it is crowded and when the shots get fired. Deer would ran randomly. Archery is a lot harder. The stats in my public hunting land averages about one harvest per day. Usually there are 15 hunters per day.
I would stay put in a tree stand for most time. You dont want to be a target by some idiot hunter in public land.
Also my previous stats of 1/15 success rate is for archery. For shotgun season, it is more like 1/4, about 15 kills for 65 hunters. But gun season is only 3 days and 4 days for second season. Chances drop to 1/8 for 2nd season.
