Conn. man with guns on campus, in car is charged

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut college student arrested carrying two handguns on campus also had an assault rifle and bullets in his car, and police found 2,700 rounds of ammunition and newspaper clippings of the Colorado theater shooting at his home, authorities said Wednesday.

William Dong, 22, a student at the University of New Haven, was arraigned Wednesday in Milford Superior Court on several charges including illegal possession of an assault weapon. A judge ordered a mental health evaluation and kept his bail at $500,000. Dong remained detained Wednesday evening....

Lawlor said that after Dong was arrested, police searched his home in Fairfield and found 2,700 rounds of ammunition of various sizes ...

Dong was carrying the two handguns, for which he had permits, and ammunition, authorities said. Police also found a Bushmaster assault rifle and ammunition for it in Dong's car parked near campus. ...

另外，不清楚CT的枪法，法律禁止大学校园携枪吗? 还是仅仅违反了校方的规定？

Why?? I don't know the local law either..... but if gun free zone is only school policy,they police have no right to arrest him..

The police has all the right to arrest him if he was caught carrying on a college campus. It is a b*s * policy, but unfortunately most college campuses are gun-free zones.

Connecticut has no specific law regarding the limitations of concealed firearms on college and university campuses.
However, University of New Haven has it own policy on firearm:
"The possession or use of firearms, fireworks, explosives, dangerous weapons, or facsimile weapons or explosives or the possession of unauthorized chemicals is strictly prohibited and in many cases also violates state or federal law"

现在这个事情的很多基本事实都不清楚，枪友们不要听信媒体宣传。比如他的AR是他们州合法的么？他们学校是gun-free zone么？

有人认识这个小朋友么？

I don't quite understand....Can police someone just doesn't follow school policy?? Doesn't police can only enforce law? School policy wasn't law..

Sandy Hook 学校大屠杀发生州 + 身上带着两把手枪去学校 + 车里还藏着州法明令禁止的武器和弹药 + 大街上露械 ......

不知道这些能说明什么咧。。。
